It seems as of late that the Jordan Brand has been hard at work keeping the AJ1 at the forefront of sneaker culture. I know people complain about the number of Yeezy 350 v2 color ways, but my god… there has been an AJ1 release (low, mid or high) literally every weekend.

With so many releases in the first half of the year, I’ve had to pass on a lot of gems (some voluntarily… others at the mercy of raffles). While retro’s have been the focal point to date, there is one “retro” inspired sneaker that I’m most looking forward to this weekend.

I understand that it’s hard to follow up the Dior’s (the most hyped shoe of 2020), but I honestly believe this is the most solid follow up the brand could issue. There’s a lot of history with the CO.JP “Tokyo" AJ1. The 2001 release was limited to only 2,001 pairs and was the first to drive the brand towards releasing unexpected color ways of the past 19 years (which means no Shattered Backboards without CO.JP).

Composed of grey unbuckle and metallic silver, Jordan is looking out for those that weren’t able to snag them back in the day and providing us with the unique opportunity to own a bit of history.

Global release is set for Friday, August 7 via SNKRS and various retailers with a retail price of $170.
