Designer: Rhuigi Villasenor

It all started with a paisley bandana T-shirt worn by Kendrick and Frank Ocean. Both were spotted in the now-iconic design that launched Rhude to new heights. Moving to LA from the Philippines at the age of 11, the label’s Creative Director grew up with little exposure to brand culture. Despite that, his luxury streetwear brand is being heralded for its exaggerated fit, form, and textures it blends together to create its unique pieces.

The brand strives to balance luxury techniques with streetwear elements and is designed from a narrative standpoint. Serving as a reflection of modern socioeconomics and personal stories, RHUDE combines American iconography with nostalgic references.

“With no formal training specific to fashion design, Villaseñor credits his understanding of garments and construction to growing up with a mother who was a tailor, providing a foundation and understanding of how to build each piece and the subsequent stories told with each collection.”

Similar to the industry it influences, RHUDE chronicles the evolution of a man from adolescence to maturity. Each collection is thoughtfully crafted and pushes the limits of storytelling through fashion and fabric.
