Aime Leon Dore New Balance P550 “Basketball Oxford”

One this is for certain is that when it comes to collabs, ALD never disappoints. Th latest edit from the Queens bred brand is of the New Balance p550.

Referenced as the “Basketball Oxford,” the NB P550 features a premium leather with yellowed accents and will release in four color options (green, silver, navy and red). My strongest of the options (and my favorite) is the green. That doesn’t take anything away from the other three options, but I feel as though the green accents compliment the aged sole and tonal features to deliver the vintage vibe look that ALD is looking to promote.

There is a lot of talk about this shoe being a contender for shoe of the year (or at least making a lot of Top 10 lists when we look back at 2020). I’d couldn’t agree more. We’ve seen a lot of Retro J’s hit the market throughout the year and Yeezy has flooded our timelines with new 350 v2’s dropping nearly every week. The NB 550 is a nice break in the action. Although it debuted as a basketball sneaker, the overall structure of the shoe provides versatility and its design has aged well over time.
